I've learned a lot from Fred Wilson over the last 18 months...the most important lesson being that there is so much in life and technology that I don't know.
Getting over the ego trip of being CEO at a web startup helped me realize that this inevitably persistent lack of knowledge is really the most exciting thing I've ever encountered.
P.S. AMAZING talent pool here...you can tell because most are using Tumblr ;-)

Hey guys, I'd be remiss to say I have a huge online presence, but have extensive background in why it matters what kind of presence you have, depending on what you are trying to achieve. I'll give some bookmarks though.
To be truthful it's no representation of my understanding of online media and where the world is going, simply a small amalgamation of markers where I pop up on the grid.
I want to explore the world of start-ups, investments, and how to create wealth - for the group rather than the individual.

Founding member of a San Francisco-based VC funded (Sierra Ventures, Catamount Ventures & U.S. Venture Partners) digital media company looking for an entree into venture capital.
I'm currently working on a non-profit social networking platform ("MyNonprofit.com"), in addition to extensive research into the digital media space, specifically interactive marketing opportunities that are emerging from the Web's transition to a more social & participatory medium. My analysis will be published this upcoming Spring in my paper titled "The Marketing Implications of Web 2.0," which I can provide to you upon request.
Thanks for the consideration.
happy valentine's day. :)

I'm a stay-home-dad taking a break from technology employment for a while, but was impressed with all the various content signatures from the 'candidates' - Twitter, Facebook, Tumbler, Flickr, Linkedin, Blogger, Del.licio.us. Hard to determine if this method is more efficient than reviewing a 2 page resume on high quality water-marked paper sent to your office with a U.S. Postal stamp.
Needless to say, I'll continue to use your portfolio companies products when I can.
Good luck!
Hi, my name is Randy Noval and I'm a "Net Native". I've been involved on the operations side and dreaming of what's possible for a long time (the "What's New" page and "The Great Internet Hunt" anyone?). While I could give you my reasons and (impressive) resume and lots of other stuff, I think it would be more apropos to do it a new way and let everyone else tell you.

Thanks, I hope this garners at least an interesting response. Curiosity can take you interesting places (and, isn't that what being a "Net Native" is all about?).

Comment: I've been interested in USV for quite some time, and I actually contacted Andrew Parker in October inquiring about opportunities. USV would be my ideal VC firm. Thank you for your consideration.

Prior interest in entrepreneurship from a healthcare perspective. Over past 1/2 year have learned much about internet entrepreneurship by researching my own ideas for a web startup and by following numerous blogs (techcrunch, etc), reading fouders at work, and networking (nextNY, etc).
Excellent oral and written communication skills and post bac education in finance and technology entrepreneurship.
Strategy guy through and through. Would be most interested in working at a portfolio company if you have or will have any strategy spots open.
My interest in early stage ventures stems from paying attention to the emerging growth of technology in the music sector. What was once analog is now going to 100% digital and I believe my experience within musical technology on a personal level will benefit you all at Union Square Ventures.

As an addition to my previous post, I would also be open to internship opportunities with your firm.
I would absolutely be interested in the position at USV. I have a strong background in information technology/computer science and economics. I am currently completing my master's in information technology while working at one of the top banks on the street as a project manager.
I would rather keep this anonymous at this point but would be happy to pass along a resume if you have any interest.

I wanted to apologize for the previous post in my name, as it was put up by a friend who thought this would be a great thing for me. If I were to write the post, it would go like this:
USV Team,
If you really wanted to bring this thing into the 21st century, you should've had an "American's Next Top Venture Capitalist" show on Bravo. It would've had two subplots. Hiring a new Analyst. As well as a competition between startups looking for funding. The potential analysts would be judged based on various competitions revolving around picking who will get the $. You get The Donald and Heidi to co-judge a few episodes. The show would obviously be streaming online simultaneously, with other camera angles, and behind the scenes stuff. You could have internet users have 1/x of the vote by voting online. They could also submit questions, challenges, etc. Obviously they'd all be shacked up in a house/loft around the Union Sq Area. Anyway, I'm down to help develop it. Until then, I would like to submit my application myself. Apologize for the repetition:

Hi,
I am interested in the job posting and am wondering if there are any mba internships available this summer at USV or Portfolio Companies?
I don't have a ton of tech/internet experience except that I am an avid "user."
My background is investment banking and business development and I am currently a first year in business school.

Hi there,
I will have my MBA in Entrepreneurship this May and am incredibly interested in venture capital, analyzing new ventures and advising entrepreneurs. I have focused my coursework on small business strategy, and unfortunately I've spend the last couple months working much harder on my resume (and class projects) than on my web presence. I am incredibly interested in your analyst position and hope this comment has helped to convey my enthusiasm.

Worked two recent internships at Microsoft as a Program manager in web properties: MSN Video/Soapbox and Windows Live Favorites. My degrees are in Art History and Computer Engineering. From those two, I combine a strong background in writing with a deep experience in web coding.
I am moving to New York soon and I am well on my way to thinking about starting SunRayLab as a full company. But before that, I think working as an analyst would be a great fit with my current experience.

I am breaking the rules with a blurb. I am sure we all have resumes with the appropriate credentials and share a passion for digital media and Web 2.0 technologies. This link, however, will give you the best feel for my personality. Unfortunately, unlike Andrew during the last process, much of me is still offline; it is, as my career and life, a work in progress.
Additionally, this is a technology/company that excites me:
